One platform. Everything your business needs.
Take That Booking is modular — you start with the building blocks you need and add more as you grow. Every module is fully integrated, so the whole system works as one. Here is each module, in plain terms, and the difference it makes to you.
Essentials
Take online bookings with full website integration and an intuitive customer interface. One attendee per booking and standard sessions. No per-session card payment — customers pay offline (cash or invoice) or on a recurring subscription.
Pro
Everything in Essentials, plus per-booking online payments, rentals and supplier access.
Premium
Everything in Pro, plus memberships, on-site check-in and full staff planning — bookings for multiple named attendees.
Each package includes every module in the packages before it. The tables below list only the modules that each package adds.
What each package includes
The booking-model differences that decide which package fits — payment, attendees, session types, and the modules unique to each tier. Payment is split into two rows on purpose: per-booking payment and recurring subscription billing are different mechanisms, and Essentials has one but not the other.

Session types, in plain English
Everything in the system centres on the session. The admin defines when it starts and ends, how many places are available, and what the session provides — whether that's an activity, service, class, event, facility, equipment or another bookable resource. Together, these details form the product: the scheduled offering that customers book and pay for.
The ‘type’ below simply governs who can book into that session, and how: alone, as a group sharing one booking, or with a choice of several activities on offer at the same time.
- Standard
- One activity, one session. The everyday case — a public class everyone books into individually, or a group booking one customer pays for and invites their own guests to.
- Multi-price choice
- Same single activity, but with a few price options laid out for the customer to pick between — e.g. “with equipment hire” vs. “bring your own.”
- Private Group
- A private booking for one customer's whole party. Doesn't appear on the public calendar — the customer gets a link to invite their own guests, and pays one fixed price for the session regardless of how many show up.
- Special Group
- Like Private Group, but the account holder can split their party across more than one activity — e.g. a party where some guests paintball and others do laser quest, all under one booking.
- School
- A private group session built for school visits: one price for the whole trip, and no individual pupil details are collected at all, even on Premium.
- Multiple – single price
- Several different activities run side by side in one session (e.g. an “open session” offering both swimming and kayaking), and everyone pays the same price whichever they choose.
- Multiple – multi price
- Same as above, but the price depends on which activity the customer picks for each attendee.
The core booking engine
Included in every package| Module | What it does | Benefit to you |
|---|---|---|
| Activity Manager | Where you build your line-up. Define every activity, group activities into searchable types, set minimum and maximum age limits, attach waivers and a per-activity confirmation message, choose a calendar colour and upload images. Your locations are managed here too, up to the number your package allows. | Set each activity up once and its rules — age limits, waivers, notice periods, confirmation wording — apply automatically to every booking. Customers find the right activity faster, and you spend less time unpicking bookings that should never have been made. |
| Session Planner | The calendar workflow for putting activities on sale. Create a single session, or a repeating series across weeks or months in one action; multi-day courses booked with a single place; and control the date each session opens for booking. Filter to “booked sessions only” and search across the whole calendar. | Populate a whole season in minutes instead of day by day. Plan well ahead without exposing dates before you are ready, and see at a glance which sessions are filling and which need a push. |
| Customer Account Manager | A single view of every account holder — their bookings, history, transactions and credit balance. Bulk-import your existing customer lists, send welcome emails with login details, create accounts on a customer’s behalf, archive and reinstate accounts, and search by name or email. | Answer “have I got a booking?” or “what did I pay?” in one click instead of scrolling through messages. Moving your existing customers across at go-live is a bulk upload, not a re-keying job. |
| Customer Interface | The branded, self-service area your customers use: your colours and logo, open calendar viewing, self-service booking, and managing their own current bookings, credits and booking history. On Essentials the account holder is the only person on a booking; per-booking card payment through the interface, and bookings for multiple named attendees, come with the Pro package. | Customers book and manage their own bookings at any hour, without calling you, and it looks like part of your own website. On Essentials they pay offline — cash or invoice — or on a recurring subscription (Subscription Manager); per-booking card payment is added by the Online Payment Manager on Pro. |
| Reporting | The figures that matter day to day — bookings over the last 14 days, booking levels for each activity, bookings by account holder, and booking revenue across an accounting period. | See how the business is actually performing — which activities sell, who your regulars are, what you have taken — without building a spreadsheet, and export the numbers straight into your accounts. |
| Subscription Manager | Lets you sell recurring access to your customers as monthly, quarterly or annual subscriptions, with pro-rata amounts calculated automatically for anyone joining partway through a period. This is recurring access billing, not per-booking card payment — that comes with the Online Payment Manager on Pro. | Turn one-off bookers into predictable recurring revenue, with sign-ups, part-period pricing and renewals handled by the system rather than by hand. |
Payments, equipment and partners
Adds to Essentials| Module | What it does | Benefit to you |
|---|---|---|
| Online Payment Manager | Takes payment automatically at the point of booking through Stripe, with a test mode for set-up and a live mode for go-live. Handles full and partial refunds and credit balances, and drives the flexible pricing types — by place, group, private group and school pricing. | The money is in your account before the customer arrives, not chased afterwards. No manual payment links, and no reconciling who has and has not paid. |
| Rentals Manager | Tracks rental equipment and its movements. Price by the hour or by the session; hold stock as an untracked pool or track high-value items by unique ID; ring-fence equipment for particular sessions; include rental in the session price; and flag shortages before they bite. Member discounts are supported with the Membership Manager. | Sell add-on equipment as part of the booking and know it will actually be there. Spot a shortfall in advance, not when a customer is standing in front of you. |
| Supplier Access | Gives external partners their own password-protected login to view the session calendar for the locations you choose. Viewing only — no customer data, no admin. | Suppliers and partner operators can see what is booked and plan around it without phoning or emailing you, and without any access to your customers or your system. |
| Module | What it does | Benefit to you |
|---|---|---|
| Membership Manager | System-wide membership. Run “members only” or “members and public”; set separate member and public pricing; give members priority or exclusive sessions; choose rolling or fixed-date memberships; control whether members can book outside their membership; turn registrations on and off; deactivate or reinstate an individual membership; and take membership payments as online subscriptions. | Build a recurring-revenue membership base and reward it with better pricing and early access. The renewal admin that used to take hours — chasing, re-dating, emailing — runs itself. |
| Attendee Information | A single system-wide switch — per-attendee records are on for every booking or off for every booking, not chosen booking by booking. Off, a booking holds only the account holder (as on Pro). On, you capture at least each attendee’s name, and optionally date of birth, email and mobile, with waiver verification (each attendee is emailed a link to approve your terms and waivers), medical details and emergency contact each enabled independently. Account-holder details are always kept, and children the account holder is guardian of are handled at checkout. All attendee data is encrypted. | Meet the compliance and duty of care that named participants demand — verified waivers, medical needs and next of kin held against the right person and on hand for staff at check-in — capturing as little as a name, or a full profile, to match what your activities actually require. |
| Onsite Check-in | The arrivals-desk view: every activity running that day and its attendee list, quick access to an attendee’s medical details, wrist-band allocation, search by name or band number, one-click entry into a customer’s account, and an equipment checklist. | A fast, professional welcome — and if you have to evacuate, you know exactly who is on site, who they came with and any medical needs, across the whole venue, in seconds. |
| Staff Manager | Plan and roster staff by skill and availability. Full and part-time patterns, holiday requests and approvals, shift and availability management, a skills and qualifications register per person, automatic matching of qualified staff to sessions, and each staff member’s own password-protected calendar. | Every session is covered by someone actually qualified and rostered to be there. Holidays and clashes are caught automatically, and staff can check their own shifts without asking you. |
